10 days plotting and down to 66% life?

10 days plotting and now down to 66%.

Ouch, 10 days, only 69 TB written, and it’s already at 66%? I wouldn’t be impressed with that thing. Mines at 210 TB written and 91%.

Yours is looking good.

Your J: wouldn’t mind some fresh air.

The J: was reading bad since the day I got it. I don’t know what is wrong with it. Western Digitial sent me a new one, and I am going to return the one that is currently in it… After a few more days of plotting of course. :grinning:

Well, you can see my results with Samsung here:

Write Amplification can be a PITA. Make sure you do not fill your SSD to the brim, and run TRIM very often.

You are right there, with one exception, my Samsung Evo Pro can take to the brim with no decrease in performance.

What is your over-provisioning and TRIM frequency? (I’m on EVO as well (not Pro))

I’m trim “enabled” at the system level (Windows 10), and it works fine.

Run this in CMD (as admin) and reboot, you are good:
fsutil behavior set DisableDeleteNotify 0

My TRIM is enabled. I just think that for Chia specifically the once per day schedule is not enough. My gut feeling tells me every 3 plots for a 1TB SSD.

Run a powershell commandlet with

Optimize-Volume -DriveLetter X -ReTrim

where X is the letter of your drive
