Hi

5T it is Ok or obsolete ?

I’m doing tests right now with a raspberry pi + 1T ssd (DB) + 5T plotting …
when I add the 5T for add PloT after 2 hours I have this on my logs

Those 3/4/5TB 2.5" drives aren’t a crowd favorite. Pretty slow, shingled instead of CMR… but once plotted, it’s storage all the same. I have heard of some cases where a good powered USB hub is needed if you run into problems.

Also you’re only on bucket 3 after 2 hours, so you might want to plot on something else and just use the Pi to farm. It’s a neat experiment in any case.

I have ST5000LM000 Seagate 5-TB 5.4K 2.5 6G SATA 3,5"
and I confess that I don’t understand what you mean (sorry) with so you might want to plot on something else and just use the Pi to farm as you can see I am new :frowning:

Your Pi is not powerful enough to create the plot file in a reasonable amount of time. But it is enough to farm the plot file once it is created. What is being suggest is: create plot files with another computer, instead of your Pi.
