I was rather surprised at the amount of time necessary to sync up the blockchain given how new it is. I’m on a gigabit assymetric hookup and considering the relatively small size at this point what would be causing the bottleneck?
I think there’s actually been some issues/challenges with syncing over the last few weeks with the latest versions. Unfortunately the best advice I’ve seen is to restart chia and see if that kickstarts it.

I missed answering your actual question: I think there’s some legitimate syncing issues in the software, and I also think the network doesn’t have enough accessible nodes on it (people’s home networks probably block connections by default)
