Can I use PCIe gen 4.0 x4 NVMe SSD with PCIe gen 3.0 x8 with full 7GB/S speed ?
Is NVMe SSD limited by lanes, or speed ?, gen 4.0 x4 is 8GB/s, gen 3.0 x4 is 4GB/s, gen 3.0 x8 is 8GB/s
Can I use 8 lanes with PCIe gen 3.0 with 7GB/s speed ?, with SSD is rated for Gen 4.0 x4

gen 4 will just run at gen 3 speed.

if it needs 4 pcie lanes and you put it in an 8 lane slot, it will just use 4 the lanes it wants.

Is that means in gen 3.0 speed is limited to 4GB/s ?

yes that’s it, you cant make it go faster than gen 3 if your system does not support gen 4

Also, just as a reminder. with Chia plotting you will never reach gen 4 speeds on your nvme anyway because it can only perform at that speed for a very short time, after that it drops back to native speed that is much lower than even gen 3 max speed.

Ok… I was fixed CPU problem with replace stock fan using cooler master hyper 212 turbo, my CPU never reach thermal throttling again… before that, temperature is about 90 - 100 degree celcius, now is only about 65 to 75 degree celcius… very significance… I think SSD is can improved with heatsink too…
