you have to go max density, it amazes me why people wanna plot on 2TB drives. All drives have 6-7W from 2-22TB
3060Ti with 3510 BB C7 plots ate 98Wh in separate compute PC. According to nvtop ~50Wh average farming. With 0.31CHF/kWh, next year 0.34CHF/kWh (because we have an energy crisis between our own hydro energy project on hill, and valley), I currently replot BB C4 ram plotting directly to stripped JBOD of 4-8 HDDs.
My farm will be more efficient than now with same HW, and no worries with extra 100W+ overhead for 1.2PiBe
Do the math, all about cashflow.
I’ll tell ya why. Because I have Solar and a house battery, and I care about the original principle that this project is about recycling unused hardware laying about in people’s cupboards. I’m not naive to the fact that this is greenwashing, and ultimately specialised, power setups with brand new ultra high capacity drive arrays will (and have) taken this project away from the original intended miner personas.
There’s more to motivation than cashflow. I have enjoyed recycling equipment and optimising my setup within the confines of what I’m able to scratch together. Some coins are just an added incentive. I only wish that all this used storage could have some additional utility than simply securing the blockchain, using power, and producing ewaste… given the direction it has gone.

Yes, the whole project sadly went south. Of course, that was expected…Satoshi once was minable by CPUs lying in a closet…good prey always attracts predators. That is the business.
The main issue is the philosophy of the project…once, you derail from your philosophy…you are done. Chia was about green eco stuff…GPU farming, farms with millions 500GB HDDs…done…gone…soon dead.
if you have PV, and batteries…you are already an EcoTerrorist 
I am interested in wealth…once, you are wealthy, you can swap it for whatever you want…currency/fiat, precious metals, social workers with gf/wife experience…and so on.
Banksters love to spread bullshit about crypto using so much energy…as the whole financial system runs on farts, and uses no energy…every bank have so many servers, eating so much energy…the whole crypto cosmos is just a fart in tornado in comparison.
Do not forget, application of new tech usually takes 10-25 years…if it survives long enough. Think about it as “10y from now, you will be telling your kids/grandkids how we have built new financial world.”
