Just checking the thread and new to Chia. My question is for Farming (not plotting), does HDD speed matter at all. I understand that the operation is less intensive and they just check if plots have the correct numbers. So consideration would be $/TB wouldn’t it??

Your HDD speed is almost irrelevant especially as you set your HDDs and USB to never sleep (high performance).

For bulk storage of plots prior to transferring the plots to your farmer, NO. If you are talking about HDD speed if you are plotting directly to and from the HDD, then yes.
