Is Chia (and any other proof of space crypto) especially susceptible to project forks as compared to proof of work coins? It seems like it would be easy to farm many forks at once on the same hardware, as compared to proof of work coins where you can’t share compute resources.

Look up merged mining. Some PoW coins (perhaps most notably Dogecoin) deliberately make this possible.
