HDDcoin was added to Foxy-Pool, allowing you to put your OG plots for Chia, Flax, Chives, and HDDcoin in a Pool.

Does FoxyPool OG require your Chia Mnemonic Phrase like HPool OG ?
How do they prevent cheating?

They prevent cheating by requiring a 1.75 deposit (your first 1.75 mined is your deposit.) Not a big deal for something like Flax and HDD, but I didn’t like it for XCH for obvious reasons. No, they do not require mnemonic phrase, but they do require you download their version of the software, which is all open source, so no concern.

Interesting that they do collateral to prevent people pulling out of the pool before ETW, I can see how that works well for Flax and HDD. Also not sure if I want to have 1.75 XCH stuck at a Pool.

Open Source is huge, so not perfect but sounds better than HPool OG.

Which forks are you currently farming now?

I have to say that I was very much against Chia forks when ChainGreen came out. They showed that they didn’t understand the Chia blockchain consensus model, you can still see that in their network difficulty of 4,011,018,418,126,848

I understand Chia is a green blockchain and enabling co-farming of plots is encouraged by Chia, and they have endorsed forks in their AMA’s as well. What I don’t like is that the same mnemonic phrase for Chia is required to enable the co-farming for the forks.

We’re now a few months later after the first fork and I see promise in a select few.

I inspect their source code (and build from source), research their teams know-how.
Place the fork software on a VM
Give only read-access to my plots
I look at those that have decent netspace and active farmers as well, so it should be reasonable safe.

  • I’m not doing the Doge name variants, guess I’m old school and not part of the meme culture.
  • Silicoin has been in testnet forever, they make mistakes and instead of owning up to them, the excuse is always that it’s just testnet… no confidence in them.

So that left me with: Flax, Flora, HDDcoin, Chives
basically in that order of how likely I see them to succeed.
