Harvester not conecting to Node after Chia update

I haven’t tried it, maybe the last update breaks something, I tend to run older harvesters and they don’t seem to have any issue. Chia should tell when an update breaks harvesters, it’s a pretty big problem.

v1.2.9 was a patch for v1.2.8. However, v1.2.10 has some new features. That would suggest that per the text you quoted above, that was a “major” update, where the RPC protocol needed to be changed to support those new features, or maybe it was just cleaned up.

The sad part is that even if there is a change in the protocol, the initial handshake to check the version needs to be done. Only after that check fails, the connection is being dropped. As such, both boxes have all the info about version discrepancies, and should log it, to help with debugging.
