is it safe running on the edge? quite a rhetorical question you have there.
Now the quality of CNI’s releases is mostly OK so the risk is low.
If you want to absolutely prevent any downtime go for the stable versions.

Now I have to admit, I see the same issue as you where it takes a while for the node to actually work.
Going to give the latest dev version a spin to see if it helps for me :+1:
