Is SATA to USB 2.0 adapter enough for Chia Harvester?

Is SATA to USB 2.0 adapter enough for Chia Harvester ?, Is I needs USB 3.0 ?

As you can harvest in a USB 2.0 HDD a SATA - usb2.0 Adapter should be fine!!

Even USB 2.0 can Transfer 40mb/Second!!

Hmm. Good question… it should be, but you’d definitely want to test that out and see what the harvester times are in practice when checking for proofs… I know the harvester certainly isn’t loading the whole 100gb file when it checks for proofs!

I had a few very old USB 2.0 drives sitting around in a drawer and decided to throw some Chia plots on them. Both 2.5 and 3.5 sub-1TB SATA drives inside. Both appear to be farming just fine on a moderately loaded old i7 server.

So yes, it should work in theory and appears to work fine in practice too!

OK… I use old i7 too… and R7 3700x (maybe upgrade to R9 3900x), two PC

Like i said, USB2.0 is totaly fine …

lookup
This is for my whole Farm, Internal HDD and external USB 2.0 mixed.

Dont forget:USB 2.0/2.1 can handle 40MB / sec. Many cheap drives dont reach much higher Rates on the inner sectors, regardless how they are connected.

Ok… My USB SATA is only 2.0 USB but USB Hub is all USB 3.0

What did you use to display that screen on the AVG lookup Time?
