My five year old MacBook Pro is using 500% of the processor and the battery isn’t charging any more is it too much for it and ready to blow? I have a external ssd I’m using for chia .
I tried to use external NVMe over USB and the battery stopped charging as it was drawing too much power. I used a powered USB hub which fixed the battery issue.

What does a powered usb do? How much are they and where can I get one ? Best Buy?
Did that slow down your processor from working so hard ?
