It is dropping - slowly.
Down about a PB in the last week, after a more-or-less 2 weeks of stable after the plot filter doubling.
21.77 EiB, lowest its been since the filter change.
When the new plot format takes effect, I don’t think it will be past 10 EiB. I predict 5 EiB around that time of eternally optimistic re-plotters.

100%…without current (so called) ‘compression’, even now, it is likely ~10-15EiB raw> By then, as XCH continues its downward path, and with farmer attrition> as you speculate.
Silver lining> will be good for those still wishing to hodl XCH for whatever reason.

Yup, the closer to death it gets, the more of it you’ll make; just imagine how much of it you can accumulate when you’re the only one farming it. I see a very bright future for you!

Probably there is nothing more to do with a bunch of HDDs. So many people or big farms keeps farming chia, even when there is no profit.

If there was a place to trade BURST, I could be a BURST whale - easily.
But there’s nowhere I can trade BURST if I mined it.
Chia doesn’t have that issue, though I’m nowhere near a whale here.
My cost of mining is probably lower than a huge majority of the current Chia farmers - I’m making money, just not enough to cover the cost of the hardware I have already bought soon.
I rough figured it a while ago I’d still be profitable at $5 (barely) - but the netspace was a lot higher at the time.
ALL of the HD-based cryptocoins I am aware of seem to be having similar “price keeps dropping” issues, not a lot of options for getting the cost of the hardware earned back.
You are only making money if you are selling it, when it goes to zero and you hodl it you lose completely.

If it goes to 0 (seems fairly likely), you’ll be correct.
I suspect it’ll find a bottom before that - but won’t be shocked if the bottom is pennies or fractional pennies, which would make you mostly correct.
On the other hand, it looks like CNI might have found another bank to do an IPO through.
