NoSSD Chia Pool update! GPU mining, 50.3GiB plots, >200% reward, new CPU & GPU plotters

Honestly, the only reasons I chose nossd was because it was so easy, windows, and you can use Pcie mining splitter which drops gpu bandwidth down to pcie1.1 x1 and still compute just fine (so I can add multiple GPUs without having to worry about Pcie bandwidth).

It has been 48 hours since we could not determine the whereabouts of Bob.
I am getting worried.

Has anyone heard from Bob?

Bob, he fell off the back of a lorry in January, and hasnā€™t been seen since.

Is that where those guys were rowing the boat across the Mersey???

You are missing the entire point.
THERE IS NO FLEXPOOL.
They SHUT DOWN months ago.
There is no ā€œFelix would need to integrate it into his poolā€.

How did YOU miss their announcement?

Use NFS or SAMBA mounts.
Remote compute has existed from DAY ONE - Iā€™ve been DOING it as my old 72-drive SuperMicro machine doesnā€™t have 16 bit slots to put a low profile GPU into at all, and doing the compute for that machine on a pair of other machines.
No need for fancy ā€œGigahorseā€ type remote compute (though NFS/SAMBA mounts should also work there).

What the heck ISP are you on that has a bandwidth cap?
Only ISP Iā€™ve seen in the last DECADE that had a bandwidth cap was Exceed (and presumably their ViaNet sibling) and that was SAT service.

Also, why are you in America using a EUROPEAN HIGH COSTS data center?

IMO DrPlotter is about to put a huge dent in NoSSD. The math shows that his solution is more profitable and efficient. Iā€™m on team Pro4x going forward for 25gb plots.

Beside that 4090 what else option we have?

Quoted from their GitHub page

DrPlotter Minimum Requirements:

  • 24GB nvidia 3090 / A5000 / 4090
  • 128GB DDR4 RAM

I wish I could afford to go to DrPlotter.
But I donā€™t have ANYTHING near itā€™s minimum requirements nor am I going to be able to afford a 3090, much less a 4090 anytime soon (and I have SERIOUS issues with the 4090 ā€œburn connectorsā€ problem and some doubts itā€™s been cured).

Also, at my farm size, Iā€™d need MULTIPLE of each card to handle the entire farm, and Iā€™d also have to seriously upgrade the hardware entirely as Iā€™m almost 100% DDR3 based hardware.

After reviewing the one video released by DrFarmer to YouTube, it appears that DDR3 will in fact work - at a significant hit (not quite 50%) to their claimed plot times.
I also suspect it might limit the farming side some, but probably not a lot as farming is much less data use intensive.
Still leaves the cost of 3090 (much less 4090) cards as an issue. A5000 are no better, and as 24GB seems to be a hard requirement, forget the A4500 or lower.

According to Gekko, greed epitomizes the evolutionary spirit, propelling mankind upward and potentially salvaging the faltering USA Inc. His rhetoric wields a dangerous allure, especially among stakeholders. ā€œGreed is Goodā€ echoes the credo of Gordon Gekko in the iconic film Wall Street.

  • Chia farms expand, plots compressed,
  • In the pursuit of profit, they invest.
  • DrPlotter reigns supreme, a digital king,
  • Maximizing gains in everything.

Maximizing profits from oneā€™s Chia farm entails continuously adding more compressed semi-completed plots, as HDDs and GPUs unite, until the cows come home or hard fork occurs. Thereā€™s about 1 more year of the wild, wild west of crypto currency remaining here.

Watched that movie many many times. That ā€œgreed is goodā€ speech is the best part of the movie.

all american isps have bandwidth caps, this is something your country doesnt have. be grateful, this shit fucking sucks bad.

Something else your country has is a company called ā€œryan airā€ where you could fly from spain to europe for 50 pounds (or something like that) and I think that is the coolest thing ever. Do a 3 day weekend vacay and then come back. Very cool.

So if I pirate movies in a american datacenter they will ban my account if I get too many dmcas too quickly. If I use a netherlands datacenter I can get them all the time. I just ignore them in NFOrce lol. (WHen I get a NTD I actually have to respond and stop seeding the file for a month until they forget and then I can turn it back on)

the costs were about the same as Joes datacenter in arkansas but now its triple because some STUPID ASSHOLE decided to FUCK MY SHIT UP (by blowing up the gas line)

I tested remote compute, and c33 uses kilobytes per partial, its great.

There are actually people really suffering in Ukraine, theyā€™ve had there entire lives blown apart, that puts your rather minor issue into context!

PS Ryan Air is not a particularly good airline, although Iā€™ve never had a problem. They often use cheap airports, so you think youā€™re flying to Barcelona but end up a 100 miles away.

I have 3 DrSolver machines running on PCIe Gen 3 no problem. Gen 3 plotters take twice as long as PCIe 4.0. You can cap the power limit of either the 3090/4090 and see very little performance degradation. Once you can get 3090s used for ~$600, this is an excellent option.

Where do you see prices like that for 3090? Looks like eBay starts around $750 or so.

I was predicting the future when I said, ā€œonce you can getā€¦ā€

BTW, I sold two of my 3090s for $300 each to some Chia friends.
