The interface is not refreshing the displayed number of peer connection heights. It is bad UI design since block header hashes get added continuously, which raises the expectation that the heights should be updated as well.
Try chia show -c via CLI to see the actual numbers.

It’s a really bad UI since it does sometimes show matching peer conn heights and sometimes it just shows 20-100 lower than my conn height.
And you’re right as hashes get updated every few seconds or so figuratively.
