I used the kind of stuff that is normally used as front covers for (audio) speakers, very easy to use. put it on a little wooden frame and then some magnetic tape so it is easy to put on and take off.
I must say though that stuff blocks a lot more air than I had thought, when it was really hot i pulled them off again. The lights shine through quite a bit though
