Virtualbox plotting is slow?

Hey guys,
I’ve read many times that plotting is faster in linux. I setted up a ubuntu in virtualbox (25gb ram, 8cores/16threads).
Plotted 8 hours while at work. 4 in parallel. Not even one single plot is ready, still at phase 3.
In windows I would have done around 8 plots. Is it because virtualbox or did i do somethibg wrong?

A virtual machine will always be significantly slower than the host it runs on

Thank you.

Yes and most of the speed penalty in virtualization is the I/O, and plotting is very I/O intensive, so… double whammy.
