Ohhhhh… just have to wait 8 yrs+ for them to be cheap on eBay

Unsurprisingly, this is SMR technology, great for us!
The new 20TB’s they recently announced aren’t SMR (which are two of the OP’s links about OptiNAND). For some reason the OP also linked to one old article from 2019 when 20TBs were only SMR.
So, new ones aren’t SMR.
