Checking Farm Health - 0 proofs

i have a Petabyte farm and my “expected time to win” is 6-7 days. i’ve won maybe 3 times this year.

finally trying to debug this issue and i found this: official wiki about checking farm health. But it doesn’t give any suggestions for when the farm is finding 0 proofs.

does anyone have any suggestions for how to debug here? fwiw my farm is 1/3 solo plots and 2/3 pool plots, but i’m self-pooling

Have you tried pooling?
Maybe worth a shot.

What version / release ?

i haven’t, since i was alright with winning every 6 days. but it seems that’s not accurate. have you seen similar results with your farm?

i’m running chia version 2.1.1

Im not solo, but my earnings dropped a tad.

Used to get just over .21 per day from pool, now a bit under ( compression / difficulty did that )

i guess i’ll try pooling then. just need to figure out which plots are pooling-enabled and which aren’t so i can replace them :sweat_smile:

Pooling will help you see whether everything is working OK, so pick a pool with a good user interface.

you must be farming non-compressed plots, they are broken now, you should replot AND stay solo

dont join any pool, do not feed freeloaders

besides, pooling wont help you understand either something wrong with your setup by instead would put your mental guard down

you should start with upgrading your software up to the latest 2.1.1 version and just meet new interfaces

With chia rpc harvester get_plots >& plotnfts.txt you can create a txt file with all plots on your harvester showing plot metadata amongst which the pool_contract_puzzle_hash and pool_public_key. With a texteditor you can pretty easily identify plots as OG or NFT (with their plotnft’s if multiple created).

It doesn’t matter, as in they will still work perfectly, and as long as they are NFT plots you can pool them. If everything works ok you can switch to solo, pooling just helps to see if you have issues, you can always switch back to solo.

You can even pool your old OG plots on a pool such as Foxy Pools.

Compressed plots are a lot smaller, so you get more plots in the same storage, this earn more, but you need more power for the CPU or GPU depending compression level.

It does sound like you need to catch up with Chia, a standard K32 is 101GB, a C19 Gigahorse plot is 56GB.

Just a moment… and I’ll really start to believe it.
Since the compression appeared, my farm has had very poor results…
I would like one of the employees of Chia Inc. he categorically denied these theories and made the matter clear by saying - “The winning algorithm has not been changed. Compressed plots DO NOT HAVE priority over no-compressed ones.”

yeah since May this year. there were plenty of complaints like yours - people just stopped winning :slight_smile:

FWIW, that’s not my experience. I was running C7 plots and have started to convert over to C18 - at the same time converted over to self pooling after flexfarmer shut down. My win rate has actually improved this month. Keep in mind net space has increased so if you havent increased with it, your win rate will likely drop slightly.

While running C7 plots with flexfarmer I was finding blocks more or less on schedule.

What Ivan is implying is BS, my brother is still solo farming original OG plots, he’s never replotted, and he is still winning roughly in line with expectations.

In addition to the above https://chia-og.foxypool.io/ is an OG pool, it’s still winning plenty of blocks

There is no problem farming OG plots.

My OG plots are winning close to schedule – or perhaps slightly behind schedule in the last couple of months – but nothing noteworthy.

interesting discussion about compressed vs non-compressed plots. clearly i have reading to do to catch up on that topic.

in the meantime, i decided to devote all my portable plots to Spacepool and start the process of replacing the non-portable plots. i did this last night and woke up to 4 (four) new XCH in my wallet. this seems too coincidental
