Chia Forum Rules

Chia Forum Rules

  1. Beware of scammers
The official website domain is https://chia.net and https://chiaforum.com. Scammers may send you links to fake forums or websites posing as support. If someone shares suspicious links or asks you to engage on another forum or website, report the user immediately via the appropriate flagging tools. For example, scammers may claim you need to “submit a ticket” on another platform—this is a scam. Note: Chia Forum account and notification emails come from notifications@chiaforum.discoursemail.com
  2. Post in the appropriate categories
Please keep discussions relevant to the topic or category you’re posting in. It might seem like your situation is unique and needs direct attention in a high-traffic category, but using the proper category ensures that the community or support team can assist you more efficiently and accurately.
  3. Beginners
If you’re new, start by browsing the Beginners category. It’s a great place to ask questions and find beginner-friendly resources.
  4. Don’t tag moderators unnecessarily
Please refrain from tagging moderators or staff members directly unless explicitly instructed to do so in advance. Moderators and support staff will assist you through the appropriate forum mechanisms, like threads or flagged posts.
  5. Be respectful to others
We’re all part of this community to support Chia and each other. Whether you’re a farmer, plotter, developer, or tech enthusiast, we share the same goal: to see Chia thrive. Engage in discussions with kindness and respect. Simply put: don’t be rude.
  6. Respect the moderators
Moderators are here to help curate and maintain the forum. If they ask you to adjust your tone, move your discussion to another category, or follow specific guidelines, please comply. Their goal is to maintain a positive and productive environment for all.
  7. Avoid divisive topics
This forum isn’t the place for unrelated discussions on politics, religion, or other potentially contentious topics. Keep discussions focused on Chia and its ecosystem.
  8. Respect the Chia staff
Many Chia staff members participate here voluntarily while focusing on their primary work. They may not be able to provide one-on-one support or answer every question. If they choose not to engage, please respect their decision and do not take it personally.
  9. No spamming
Avoid posting the same content repeatedly or in irrelevant categories. If you wish to promote a product, pool, or tool, ensure it’s posted in the correct category and done sparingly.
  10. Be respectful of other technologies
Blockchain and technology communities are diverse. Avoid aggressive tribalism or unnecessary comparisons. We welcome respectful discussions about other technologies but discourage combative attitudes.
  11. Limit swearing
Keep your language professional and respectful. Occasional swearing is fine, but excessive use is not.

Repercussions

Violating these rules may lead to consequences, depending on the severity and frequency:

  • Warning: Moderators may ask you to adjust your behavior or end a conversation. Follow their guidance immediately without further escalation.
  • Silencing or Suspension: For more serious violations, you may lose posting privileges temporarily. Use this time to review the rules and reflect.
  • Permanent ban: Severe or repeated infractions may result in a ban. This includes actions like spamming, phishing, or personal attacks.

Note: Do not engage in further drama when others are moderated. Reacting negatively to moderator actions (through comments or reactions) only adds fuel to the fire. Instead, continue constructive discussions and allow moderators to handle the situation.
