Chia Keys Recovery

Hello all, my Linux-based Chia farm main drive failed and I had data recovery performed on it, the problem is the file extensions are not what they were before but are all .xml .txt and .java - I have all of the files that were able to be recovered but not sure what to be searching for to see if the files containing the key are there. Does anyone have any recommendations for me? I did not back up the keys and this is a 1.1PB farm.

Do you not have a record of the 24 words.

I thought I did but that disk also failed so I have no other backups. I am hoping I have the needed file to bring the farm back but I know it is unlikely.

You stored your 24 words on a drive? Outch…
I’m afraid to ask, but you hold your coins in a cold storage? But I guess I allready know the answer.

I do not, I have around 40x chia that are not accessible as well so I am hoping to find a way for recovery but I know it may not be possible.

As far as I know you are looking for “chia_ca.key” and “chia_ca.crt”.
You don’t have any backups? If you can’t find this data, I am sorry you lost everything.
Maybe you can send your drive to data specialists, they can recover it but this is not cheap.
But I am astonished, you manage a considarable large farm and you didn’t do propper security meassurement?

It seems as if the drive, where you saved your 24 words, needs a data recovery operation.

Is the drive dead?
If it is dead, then it might be worth the expense of using a professional data recovery service.

A dead drive is not likely to have corrupted the disks within, A professional data recovery service can probably fix / replace the failed part, and get that drive to be fully functional. That will give you access to the file where you saved your 24 words.

Those 40x Chia wins are worth approximately $2,100 as of this moment.

I do not know how much a professional data recovery service charges. But even if it is close to a grand, it might be worth it. If they charge $250 then that would seem well worth it.
