GrinderPro FPGA

Assume $10k USD for 1Pib of spinning rust. ($10 / tb). Assume 500 20TB HDDs at 5w each (2,500W). The Mac solution is already 10x less CapEx and almost 10x less OpEx (assuming it works).

I can tell you it wonā€™t be that inexpensive but pricing is not finalized yet. If you have a M2 Ultra I can send you a link to our discord. We are looking for beta testers before launching a web site. We will be accepting XCH and BTC for payment. We hope to get a well known and trusted community member to validate our offering and do a YouTube review (with xch address in review as proof) in exchange for a 7 free 1 PiB downloads (7 PiB is maximum one M2 Ultra can handle).

Note you can you donā€™t have to run all 7 PiB at once. You can set to run only a couple PiB when you are using your computer to work and then 7PiB when you are away from your computer.

Amazon I can get 14 GB for $100 (free shipping).
Seems to be the sweet spot, if you can use SAS drives.

You do need something to mount them in and run them.

Are there different ā€œlevelsā€ like in compression, where the files would be cheaper and the spoofed space smaller? It sounds like thereā€™s only one choice so far.

For example an option for 4x cheaper files, but the spoofed space is only half.

Iā€™d volunteer if someone can prove to me this really works. 5k for a used Mac Studio and 7PiB would be worth it.

I ran some calcs - even at MY electric price (yourā€™s is a lot higher IIRC), itā€™s problematic to achieve payback on the hardware alone before the current plot format dies.
That was assuming the net space stays even (itā€™s been dropping SLOWLY which is good for payback) AND the price doesnā€™t drop (itā€™s dropped under $15 a few times, and I would not bet on it staying above $12 as thereā€™s no reason for someone(s) to have been buying it at all that I can figure out).

That also assumes that you have the full 9PB of ā€œplotā€ stuff on hand immediately and that the ā€œplotā€ stuff is free.

I donā€™t see how you can say 7PIB would be enough - or did you forget about the announced plot changes in the works?

We donā€™t expect a new plot format for another year at least but based on what we know it will be will still be possible to grind. Anyone who purchases GrinderPro downloads will receive a discount in the future. The new plot format will be smaller so it will require less VRAM to grind (but will be heavier lifting on our end in the cloud).

We are currently running an invite only beta test for Chinese customers only (they have to manually send them download links). I am still working on a website for USA and EU customers so all payments and downloads will be automated. It takes 5 hours per PiB to generate the grind files. So 7 PiB requires 35 hours of compute with the H200.

Damn, thatā€™s nothing then. $50 bucks of compute for 7 PiB. If you get it at $1.50 / hour like you said, off peak. Otherwise more like $150, but still nothing.

Cheaper than plotting for sure. Would be a plotting speed of 5000 TB / day. Sure H200, but still I think a 4090 would only do 100 TB / day or so.

EDIT: So hereā€™s a dumb question, why not grind on H200 instances yourself? Letā€™s say the H200 can do 25 PB, thatā€™s around $4 per hour. I guess the problem will be getting a lot of instancesā€¦

I see no end to CNIā€™s problems trying to stop plot manipulation no matter what they come out with. They grossly underestimated the capabilities of determined farming developers. Its as if they watched every other crypto mining operation get dominated by GPUā€™s then ASICā€™s etc. and learned nothing due to their hubris.

Willing to test this out in the US if provided a link. Have a Fully loaded M2 Ultra machine.

Have the machines, send a link and instructions, Happy to prove this out for US folks.

Odd, how CNI has specifically stated that the new plot format is intended to stop grinding and compression abuse.

Not really comparable, most other coins with ASIC made no effort to develop an anti-ASIC format, nor do they use hard drives to store any form of plot with.

The comparison was conceptional, the point being that in the pursuit of money or reward, people will find a way to defeat road blocks. Unfortunate you could not deduct that.

So glad I quit farming chia last year and bought BTC. XCH is a scam shit coin. There were rumors of fpga grinding over 2 years ago and they were never addressed. Now we have grinding on consumer hardware. Proof of space is just stored proof of work. How many times will you replot before your realize it doesnā€™t work? There is a reason Chia is dumping XCH as fast as they can from the prefarm. The silence from them on GrinderPro is deafening.

100k BTC tonight boys. Enjoy your centralized supply shitcoin.

Please STOP sharing the link to the Discord server. If you are on the wait-list you will be sent the link. We are not accepting new people on the wait-list at this time.

Thanks for all your interest.

No idea why anyone is still putting money here. While plotting got easier everyone ignored the possibility of chia turning into another PoW.

I made a post to change direction months ago. Small farmers were whining about the cost of plotting hardware for higer k. I guess now we can all enjoy blockchains death.
.

PM link for US folks. I have 2 fully maxed out MacStudios and would love to lend credibility to this claim.

Even willing to pair up with BWFree, as he was known in the community and also nows has the ā€œskeptics voiceā€. We are both fairly close to each other geographicly and have dealt with each other in the past.

Iā€™m down!

I would love to do a zoom screencast with you MexicanMike running the two maxed out Studios. Again, if it worked, Iā€™d get one just to grind the space into oblivion.
