I have 5tb wd my passport drive. It’s not working after 2 months usage. Sometimes it worked around 55-60 degrees. Anyone knows if i send it for warranty, will western digital accept it?
My second question is this hdd was full of k32 plots. If i send it for warranty, can they reach my private chia key? Thanks
No, they cannot. Plots are made only with a famer and pool key, not private key.
But little chance you get the original drive back. Repairing is often more expensive than replacing the product, so you prob lose the plots anyway.
Farming Chia causes very little wear on a harddrive, see no (good) reason for them to reject a warranty claim.
