Any rough estimates on how big chia is ? How many farmers ?

According to Chia (XCH) PoST | Mining Pools, 270137 miners account for about 15.5 EiB of network capacity. The current capacity of the whole network is about 31.844 EiB, which means that (via simple linear extrapolation) there are about 270137/15.5*31.884 = 555680 farmers. More data would enable a better estimate, of course.

An upper limit to the number of farmers according to https://www.chiaexplorer.com/charts/addressCount is 3983000. That is, the number of farmers is definitely lower than 4 million.
