what out of the blue sky nvme is not the option with gpu, sounds like misleading information 
I have an old GTX970 sitting in my cupboard that would fit very nicely with my ancient Dell r910 (4 x cores) with 1TB of DDR3 RAM. Fingers crossed for older hardware support just to keep it out of land fill.

People like me either canât afford to keep buying hard disks or donât want to do endless investment in one idea. They buy certain HDD capacity and plot slowly or fast (you will plot all your limited capacity in a month or two/three). Therefore for people like me it doesnât matter if other people have capabilities to plot 20 times faster than me. I am done with my plotting many months ago. I canât just keep competing with people with more resources.

My 2 cents on this is that the fact that Chia Network is able to provide such security and have a node count of ~125000 is due to the small farmers. 1 PB farmer does not provide the same security to the network as 5 Ă 200 TB farmers.
If Chia wants to keep this high number has to support low-end hardware, but also, disincentivize not only plot grinding but huge farms too or Chia might end up with 5 farmers making 90% of the coins.

Surprisingly whales only make up 32.7% of our pool. Thatâs pretty good. I assume itâll be similar across the network.
Note I realize its farmers but its difficult to have a website for multiple coins when those coins change up the terms.

When I was born my parents were very poor and girls hate the lessons they instilled in me. You do not want to mention the word âcheapâ or âgood dealâ on a date. Growing a pair is indeed the key to success. Too many people spend everyday blaming others.

As an owner of 2.2 PiB farm, I can tell that plotting speed is not a constraint. Whether it takes 8 or 16 months - doesnât matter in the long run. The costs of buying and maintaining HDDs is the main expense. Plotter is just small potatoes in the big scheme of things.

If you buy HDDs in bulk, you may end up with <15$/TB. That is on average 5-6 years ROI for HDDâŚHDD has got 5 years warrantyâŚit is already gambleâŚif lucky, your HDD fails in warranty (~failure rate 4 years according to BackBlaze, but they are in different business than us)
