I wish I had seen this thread before plotting 500 tb. I only have 32 tb disk left.
Chia plotters including madmax are very, very slow. they want a lot of system resources.

@rallbright I am pretty sure you have to pay taxes when you exchange crypto for money. But I can send you your payment statistics if you give me your wallet address. Payments aren’t associated with blocks, sometimes when we win very close blocks we pay for two blocks at once.

If I “farm” $100 of crypto at a cost basis of $30/xch I need to pay capital gains tax on this $100. Then when I sell it I can get capital gains or capital losses. If I sell at $50/xch my cost basis is now at $30/xch so I only pay capital gains on the price - cost basis = $20
Im not trying to optimize my taxes my goverment will audit me if I am wrong lol.

yes only payments, so USA only considers it when you “receive it”
thats why a lot of pools let you set your min to like 10xch or something to minimize taxable events
heres what our stuff on flexpool looks like. This is not me, but it lets you download a csv to put into turbo tax or give to your CPA.

thank you. btw i wanted to upgrade my cpu. but is it even worth it if they are gpu plotters already?. Do guys plan to implement gpu plotter ? Also do you guys plan to improve finalization process ? it currently takes for like 5-7min more to finalize the plot than actual plotting and the cpu utilization during finalization is very low thanks

I’ve reposted what Chia or the dev has leaked publicly in the Chia channel of our discord. The GPU plotter thats coming in Jan is extremely fast so it’ll be easy for Chia farmers to switchover to the new compressed plots in a few weeks.
PS: To the NoSSD devs. Goodjob making something that is gamechanging. Don’t let this setback get you down, there will be other opportunities. Rethink how you market things next time or consider partnering with someone else. It only took a week or two for people to figure out what you guys do which shows how important it is to have a strong business plan when you have a lead that is unrevealed but easy to engineer. We’d probably have split our 0.7% pool fee with you guys though given that we make less than $1k a month thats not a lot.

Over the past six months, we have grown into the top10 according to miningpoolstats. Our business plan is to invest in actual technology developement and not sit and wait for the big brother to do the job for us. We will keep the strategy that has worked so well for us in the following year. Thanks to all our users who plot and mine on our pool and Happy New Year!

It doesn’t really mean much we’re #3 and make less than $1k a month which is below our server costs much less staffing. Space and HPool are the only ones that make a profit.

The NoSSD plotter does not seem to take much advantage of multi-threading past 8 or so threads, plotting in a RAM disk with 72 threads on a dual-processor server or plotting on nvme with 24 threads on a Ryzen desktop, I cannot get faster than 12 minutes plotting time (10 minutes to finalize). The processor and nvme bandwidth are not fully loaded according to Task Manager. Anybody knows how to plot faster?
