SATA PCIe card - BIOS configuration

Hello,

Not sure if this is the right place in the forum to post this message.
I am trying to connect a SATA PCIe adaptor to my PC without success. It’s a PCIe card based on the ASM1166 chipset.

So far I am hitting a brick wall.
I am running Ubuntu 20.04 on a Gigabyte Z390 UD motherboard. When I try to boot with the card inserted in one of the PCI slots, Ubuntu hangs in the early phases of loading the operating system.

I believe it’s a matter of finding the right motherboard BIOS settings, but after a couple of evening trying I am close to give up.

Any ideas?
