hi guys, I was trying to test how fast the network is and it looks strange -when I send coin each 12 seconds - it looks ok. But when I send coin each 5 or less, there are many OUT records in blockchain explorer so something is wrong…
is there any limit in chia network like one transaction every 10 seconds or?
edit: just checking it and it looks ok AFTER I post here btw how many transactions is ok for a second to send from full node?
Chia runs at or close to 20 TPS using layer 1. With layer 2 (stil being developed), TPS for Chia is planned to be scalable up to a possible 1 million TPS. I understand that there are security problems with higher TPS and do not expect that they will get to 1 million TPS any time soon.
I want to develop a game a each move is transaction - just for fun to see how reliable and stable blockchain technology is… I need like 1 transaction /second for player so fullnode should be ok so far. I’m just playing with it since I must run fullnode for farming, why not use it in 100% way…
Transaction speed is a problem for all crypto. Chia plans to increase their TPS with layer 2. The crypto community as a whole is tackling this essential issue.
Bitcoin survives at 7 TPS. I don’t get it, but part is that most trades happen on markets and do not actually result in 1 transaction per trade.
For crypto to effectively become currency TPS will have to be massively increased.
I wonder how Bitcoin is standing up to small countries now trying to use it as a secondary currency. This will increase the number of Bitcoin transactions dramatically.
Here’s a really cool graphical ‘game-like’ representation of transactions taking place on Bitcoin & Ethereum. It’s mesmerising to watch, and educational to understand what is happening and why. Maybe one day there is one like this for XCH, who knows? And use real xactions, not staged ones lol!
" TxStreet.com is a live cryptocurrency transaction visualizer featuring Bitcoin, Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash and Monero. When a new transaction is broadcasted to a cryptocurrency, a person appears and attempts to board a bus. If the transaction has a high enough fee, they will board the first bus and be ready to be included in the next mined block. If there are too many transactions to be included in the next block, and the transaction didn’t pay a high enough fee, the person will either wait in line or board a different bus. Consecutive buses will appear when there are enough transactions to fill them.
The movement speed of a person represents how high of a fee they paid compared to the current median fee.
The size of a person represents the size of the transaction (Bytes for BTC/BCH, Gas for ETH)."
