What is the price you are happy to pay for a plot?

Zero personally, but for lots of people it will end being pennies/cents - the main cost of a plot for me isn’t producing it, it’s storing it - and I’m not in the cloud, it’s the cost of buying disks, enclosures, cabling, etc. That will (well, might) become an ongoing cost, whereas the cost of plotting hardware is a fixed cost and uses more resalable machines that I had or wanted anyway (mid-tier and high-tier Ryzens). Plotting and farming in the cloud

I’ve used DO and Linode for years, and it took until you posted that to realize how absolutely insane those storage prices are. I get that you’re getting industrial strength hosting with them, but…wow. Makes me think even more about things like SIA coin and other decentralized storage projects and how they might legitimately start eroding some of these expensive products if they can get enough traction.

Farming/Plotting = not profitable

Chia got my interest since sometime, and I really like the ideas of the project and got faith in it. At first I really wanted to plot, farm so get xch that way. I wasn’t really looking at what kind of storage I needed or how often I need new HDDs, almost I bought a suerplotter that can plot 100+ a day.
