I have measured the awake time of the sleeping drive. That is the duration from triggering the disk till it sleeps again. It is generally between 2 and 3 minutes. Although I have setup the usb drivers to nosleep, some sata to usb boards are programmed to insist on sleeping and ignore windows. I check these from debug log and see if a drive has a reading time more than 5 second and add them to nosleephd. First I setup as 3 min, if still over 5 sec, then 2 min respectively. I configure the app as write and delete file.
