NoSSD Chia Pool update! GPU mining, 50.3GiB plots, >200% reward, new CPU & GPU plotters

First you need a good steak and beer, then think about it some more…

NOSSD is very easy to get into. I like its power-on-then-play. I am setting up two 0.5PB system now. Two mothballed old Xeon workstation have been restarted. CPU plotting is quite fast. Older GPU works well for farming as long as it has enough memory.

Hi,
I’m using C14 now.
Had this issue, too, very often and I would say you just have proved that it is not GPU Power that’s missing. It is the hard drive or the connection or sth like that. Going for C14 instead of C15 didn’t make such a big difference but the issue is gone.
Almost - I have 200 plots on a Synology NAS and they are mounted per cifs to ubuntu. Sometimes I get the issue again but I don’t care.
I have about 7000 plots in a NetApp 4246 , mixed SAS und SATA connected to a Z440 with a 3060 12GB.
I do not dare trying again with C15.

Greetings,
Oliver

anyone w/ a 4060 can paste me how it performs? plotting and max c14 plots

Max 30k C14 plots @512, /
C14 plots around 2m20s using gen4 /
23000 C14 plots avg 90w

Is there a feature flag that will enable NoSSD to start plotting again when the destination has space? I am using a staging area and NoSSD stops plotting when staging area is full but does not restart plotting when staging area is cleared.

Lol, missed that. Wow nossd is so easy. I wish I had started 2 months ago. I thought it would take me days to get it going on and I was procrastinating.

Now I am plotting to ramdrive, plot times are around 2min 20 secs with 2080ti. This sounds fast but given it is only 53GB, not fast enough. Plotting 1PB will take long time.

Bladebit took me weeks to set it up. Farming with bladebit was also pain, the bug with Pascal GPUs wasted so much time and I lost several chia because farm kept on crashing.

With nossd, it was so easy. just start the container and all worked magically. I thought I would spend the whole weekend, instead it took me only a few hours.

NoSSD guys are really awesome, not only technology wise but also product design. We need to hire you for SaaS company.

Has anyone used nossd and offical Bladebit farmer together? Any concerns to run them together? My reward address is a cold wallet.

That seems pretty good, I wonder how much faster a 4060 ti / 4070 is
Do they have a table somewhere?

Right now my 980ti is at its absolute limit

Dawson said their tech is 2 years away, it seems he was right.
NOSSD gain 0.44 EiB in 6 days. and there is 1 EiB gap between space pool and NoSSD.

Houston we may have a problem. NoSSD’s No 1 spot didn’t take too long from my post Nov 13th so like ~30 days… if this pace keeps up then sky’s the limit. The Chia ($XCH) blockchain network still consists of **nodes, a distributed ledger, an asset, and a consensus algorithm.

But it seems the Prof·it$ Mo·tive wins over principles behind blockchain technology at least for the moment. Perhaps NoSSD is supported by some indirect or directly via a 10ft pole corporate relationship planning a reverse merger only time will tell?!? A reverse merger is an attractive strategic option for managers of private companies to gain public company status.

I’m glad to see increased activity on the blockchain this weekend. Chia may be all about decentralization, transparency, and authenticity but miners are all about how much have you paid me lately/today.

Profit is always the main factor (especially, if the principles are not that clear to everyone), so no point to put any labels on it.

On the other hand, network health (the number of nodes out there) and payment structure are on Chia. If the number of nodes is really important, then maybe a running node should also earn some XCH (regardless how minuscule that amount would be). Maybe the node should be faster at staying on chain / easier to run. That could potentially motivate some people to run a node without any plots while gaming.

Your confused, nossd is operating as designed. This is exactly what is suppose to happen and it is happening correctly.

@Anthony opencl support when, remote compute support when?
I have a intel a750 if you want to test anything

What the actual … bet he games on it when he isn’t plotting!

You mean miners are not donating their time, energy, intelligence, and equipment out of the goodness of their hearts?

I’ve heard if you have the time “We’ve got the beer”  :beers:

The project has pivot or evolve after approx ~900 days. I’m not too in flexible in my old age that I can’t tip toe further away from the warmer Apple OS shoreline waters into the Windows 11 or Linux OS’s more lucrative and efficient NVIDIA CUDA® riptide territory of the crypto digital ocean here.

Chia tech has struck that balance IMO and the community votes with their farms whether sm or large so :us: NoSSD is the way of the majority (per mining pool stats as of today ~6.41 EiB) until a a new challenger appears or an “other” type of intervention happens down range.
