I havent replotted, but 4x and ill prob start
I bet those big China Farmers will replot to this.
Well, nVidia already has 48 GB cards, and RTX 5000 series should be coming soon. Looks like 8x is around the corner.

The only catch is they will need one 4090 for every 200TiB.
I donāt think that there is a catch at all. What do you think they are currently running as GPUs, if they have 50PB of GH or NoSSD plots? The math is the same for 200 TB and 200PB.
No itās not!
Iām not sure how much a 4090 will farm on NoSSD, or GH, but itās certainly a lot more than 200TiB, for 1PiB youād need five 4090 GPUs, which then means you need the hardware to mount those in, the power to supply them, perhaps the air con to deal with the heat, the money to pay for it all.
Thereās a lot more to consider than simply doubling the effective farm size.
I do think that it all comes down to economy for the largest farmers. If the TDP of a 4090 gpu is less than adding an equivalent number of hard drives to get the same effective netspace then I do think they will replot, wouldnāt you? I would if I were in their shoes. If not then I wouldnāt. It really all comes down to that. And donāt forget hard drives produce heat, too and so do the sas hbas and sas expanders and the extra farmers required to farm more hard drives. It will all come down to economy.
It all gets rather complicated, lots of variables of course, but remember weāre not talking 4x, a lot of big farms may well already be on 2x or close to it. Itās only 4x if youāre not on compressed.
Back to nossd. I know a lot bros use c14 not c15. What is the adantage using c14?
I would think because c14 requires a lot less compute than c15.
I can only plot c14 and farm on my 8gb Tesla P4.
At c15 I can plot onlyā¦
Something strange I noticed, when I try to farm with my Quadro m4000 solo the nossd mining client says c-14 and c-15 are unmineable. I would expect this as this is an ancient gpu. But, if I use it in addition to a more powerful card like my Rtx a4000 or a cmp90 hx then it add another 2000 plots c-15 that it says will be mineable to what the other cards could mine solo. I have been using this m4000 paired with Cmp90 hx for the last week and it has happily mined away with my 2056 plots (a mix of c-14 and c-15) and have had no stale or invalid proofs. I am not sure if I started to reach the upper limits of the cmp90 hx if it would still work without flaw or not but I guess time will tell once I bring my 256 disk franken jbod on line and get it populated with disksā¦ā¦this could take me a whileā¦ā¦maybe @Dawson could answer that but the client seems to think it will work this way as this is output from the test. I donāt know and it doesnāt really matter to me as I wonāt be relying on my m4000 and itās extra 2000 plots worth of compute, as I am just fooling around with this old card out of curiosity.
@FolliesR828
Thatās because single Quadro M4000 canāt decompress a proof in time, but two GPUs together can.
nossd defaults to plotting and mining. If you disable the plotting with ā¦ err ā¦ --no-gpu-plotting ā¦ it will tell you what you can mine with that old inefficient card
Edit ok i defer to the above, lol
Not that I am going to go buy a bunch of p4 or m4000 gpus but does this mean if I did that these old gpus could together compute fast enough for c15 plots if you had a half dozen of so hooked to the same machine?
Probably yes, but this only applies to GPUs which have enough VRAM for C15
Itās because I couldnāt feel it when it happened.
Iāve been wondering about this too since day one with 10.00 EiB.
BlackEgo overslept this timeā¦
On your small farm, that much variation is expected.
Even on my much bigger farm, I see variations from 1200ish an hour down to around 800.
Used to see similar when I ran GH or āstandardā farmers.
